In western society age gaps of 10 years or more in couples is somewhat looked down upon according to some studies and articles. Statistics also show that age gaps of 10 years or more are less common in western countries compared to other countries with more traditional values. In the western world so-called feminism has been promoted by the ruling class. As a result of the feminist propaganda women have been brainwashed into believing they should put their education and career before raising a family. Women are encouraged to be on equal footing financially and career wise compared to men. On top of this the progressive tax system has led to more equal financial situations between men and women. Socialist programming have caused many men to take nominal paying jobs, and easy unsecured loans with high interest have added to the problem by reducing the amount of affluent men on the dating market.
With regards to having children, the majority of the responsibility naturally and traditionally are on women. Women naturally want a partner that can contribute to the family by investing resources. The more resources the man can provide the more comfortable life the family can live. The rise of the welfare state and feminism has however changed this natural dynamic. Today women don't even need a man to provide for their children as the welfare state provides an easy way out of the relationship and helps her to extract resources from the man after a break up regardless if he wants to or not. The welfare state provides for her even if the man can't. All these factors have led to less incentives for women to look for men with resources. Socialist propaganda even teaches women that rich men are probably selfish or bad. We have all been taught to not seek wealth, and women who do are looked down upon as gold diggers.
Some studies show that women live the longest if they are married to men of the same age. These studies may be valid, although I distrust all studies done by government employees. If this is trues, it might have a natural explanation that women who have husbands of the same age have married early and met their husband at high school or through friends or activities in their youth. It's a good chance these women were among the most attractive in their circle and had the best appearance and best health. People with the best genes, best diets, best parents, and best health naturally live longer than people who struggle with obesity or other health problems. There are however natural reasons to why a woman will live longer with a man of the same age. A man of similar age most likely has better health and can provide for her longer than an older man. So looking for a man of similar age can definitely be a good idea for women.
However, this is mainly a good idea for women in their early twenties. When attractive men in their thirties or forties accumulate wealth and status, they typically will favor a younger woman due to potential fertility issues with women of his own age. This is even hardwired into men's attraction for young women. So even though it's a good idea for a 40 year old woman to find a 40 year old man to start a family with, it's not a good idea for the average 40 year old man. The 40 year old man will have a look at a fertility graph and realize they better find someone in their twenties and definitely avoid women in their forties.
This is why i believe the traditional "Half plus 7" rule is valid even today as a good rule when matching men and women. If you follow this rule, then both the man and woman get the best possible deal given their fertility and level of resources. This rule says that the woman's ideal age should be half the man's age plus seven years. I've done some calculations to find reasonable minimum and maximum deviations from the rule, and I've come up with a deviation of plus/minus 37 percent from the ideal age. This is not based on any scientific study, but simply my best estimations at this time. I've done some calculations for each age with deviations on the age in the following tables. Of course the legal age have to be taken into consideration. Sex and marriage would have to be postponed for the youngest candidates in this table, and I have removed the minimum age limit for the youngest men as the limit would be too low for this reason.
|Suitable age ranges for men looking for a woman|
|Male age||Min age||Ideal age||Max age of female|
Similarly I've done calculations for women following the same rule in the table below.
|Suitable age ranges for women looking for a man|
|Female age||Min age||Ideal formula age||Max age of male|
